Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Ordinary opening balance

  1. Read the setup field
  2. Enter your own agreed amount
  3. A target is not a transaction

In ordinary Savings or Debt mode, Opening balance describes the tracked starting amount.

Monthly targets do not change that amount or create ledger entries.

Step 2

Interest starting principal

  1. Select the agreed calculation and cadence
  2. Check principal and annual rate
  3. Use the actual tracking terms

Interest mode exposes Starting principal alongside the annual rate and schedule.

Configured principal is setup metadata, not an extra contribution on top of recorded initial funding.

Step 3

Apply the same rule to debt

  1. Select the agreed calculation and cadence
  2. Check principal and annual rate
  3. Use the actual tracking terms

Debt interest uses the same starting-funding precedence, with the selected borrowing or lending direction.

Do not add an opening loan amount twice simply because two setup fields exist.

Step 4

Verify recorded initial funding

  1. Check the verified saved state
  2. Read the highlighted value
  3. Setup is separate from money movement

The service-verified example has an actual starting-funding transaction and a later contribution.

The tracked balance uses that initial funding once; configured principal is not added again.
