Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Your saved transactions in one place

  1. Open the Transactions tab
  2. This list contains saved entries
  3. Pending notifications still need review

Open Transactions to find the entries you have saved in Pennie.

This page brings your recorded budget, expenses, savings and debt movements together.

A captured bank notification is not a saved transaction until you approve and save it.

Step 2

First check the month and day

  1. Check the selected month
  2. Date narrows the list to one day
  3. Period and filters affect what appears

Start by checking the selected month, here October twenty twenty-six.

Use Date when you need a particular day within that month.

If an entry seems missing, check the period and active filters before recording the same payment again.

Step 3

Search and Refresh have different jobs

  1. Search finds matching saved entries
  2. Refresh reloads the current view
  3. Neither saves a pending notification

Search helps you find a saved entry using a useful category, subcategory or note.

Refresh reloads the current view.

It does not save a pending notification or remove every active filter; detailed search shortcuts have their own tutorial.

Step 4

Choose the kind of entry you need

  1. All shows different transaction types
  2. Budget shows recorded income
  3. Expense shows ordinary spending

All lets you see different transaction types together.

Budget narrows the view to recorded income, while Expense shows ordinary spending.

Choosing All resets the type filter, but your selected month and other filters still matter.

Step 5

More filters are along the same row

  1. Scroll the filter row sideways
  2. Savings and Debt are separate flows
  3. There is no Transfer filter chip

Scroll the filter row sideways to find Savings and Debt.

These are recorded movements, not extra ordinary expense categories.

The current page has no separate Transfer filter chip; do not confuse this row with the five types on Add Transaction.

Step 6

Read a saved transaction row

  1. Read category and subcategory
  2. Check amount and recorded time
  3. Rows are grouped under their date

In this saved row, Groceries is the category.

Supermarket is the subcategory.

Check the five hundred rupee amount and recorded time, then the date heading above the group.

The day total is budget minus expenses, not a live bank balance.

Step 7

A savings credit is not salary

  1. Savings Pot: savings contribution
  2. Positive sign describes this savings flow
  3. Do not count it as extra income

Our Savings Pot row records a two thousand rupee savings contribution.

Its positive sign means savings increased.

It is not another salary payment, and savings movements are separate from the day total of budget minus expenses.

Step 8

Read debt signs in their context

  1. Personal Loan: money borrowed
  2. Read the category and movement together
  3. Debt is separate from ordinary spending

The Personal Loan row records fifty thousand rupees borrowed in a You-owe debt category.

Its negative display describes this debt movement; it is not fifty thousand rupees of ordinary spending.

Read the category, note and direction together rather than guessing from the sign alone.

Step 9

Add an entry or start a receipt scan

  1. Plus opens Add Transaction
  2. Receipt icon starts bill scanning
  3. Scanning has separate access and AI checks

The plus button opens Add Transaction for a new entry.

The receipt icon starts the bill-scanning workflow.

Scanning has its own access, cloud consent and AI quota checks; ordinary manual entry is a different path.

Step 10

Your next step

  1. Check month, filters and saved details
  2. Need Help opens the public guide
  3. Next: learn the Add Transaction form

Need Help opens Pennie's public web guide.

You now know where saved entries live, what the controls mean and why savings and debt need context.

Next, learn the Add Transaction form; the two notification-saving routes will each have a dedicated video.
