Step 1
Clear search before replacing
Clear the category search
Browse the matching group
Check disabled rows
If a category seems missing, clear Search categories and check its automatically selected group.
Look in Disabled Categories before creating a replacement.
Step 2
Re-enable a disabled category
Check the verified saved state
Read the highlighted value
Setup is separate from money movement
Use Enable for future entry; saved history was never removed.
Unlock custom editing through the existing gate if offered; AI Premium is unrelated.
Step 3
Use a valid name
Meet all name rules
Avoid duplicate names
Keep built-in names and icons fixed
The actual validation rejects an invalid custom name.
Use a valid unique name; built-in name and icon fields remain fixed.
Step 4
Keep category and subcategory separate
Open the category editor
Check name, icon and purpose
Keep the same category when editing
Create an Expense, Savings or Debt category here; there is no subcategory manager or custom Income choice.
Enter subcategories with actual transactions. Only saved confirmed examples teach suggestions.
