Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.
Step 1
Recognise Category in use
Try Delete on a used category
Read Category in use
Cancel or choose Disable category
The actual Delete action detects that Weekend hobby already has a transaction.
The real dialog offers Disable category rather than deleting its recorded history.
Step 2
Check Disabled Categories
Check the verified saved state
Read the highlighted value
Setup is separate from money movement
The verified disabled category moves to Disabled Categories, hidden from new transactions, reports and Dashboard.
Its saved transaction remains in history; disabling is not undoing a purchase.
Step 3
Enable for future use
Check the verified saved state
Read the highlighted value
Setup is separate from money movement
Use Enable to restore future-entry, report and Dashboard availability for the same category.
The verified state keeps its original identifier and saved transaction history.
