Page-reference preview

Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Settings: choose how Pennie works

  1. Start with the section list
  2. Your ledger stays local

This is Settings, where you choose how Pennie works on your device.

Your saved transactions stay in the local database. Cloud services have their own permissions.

Step 2

Profile is separate from your ledger

  1. Find account options in Profile
  2. Sign-in is not automatic ledger sync

The Profile row leads to account options and referrals.

Signing in alone does not upload or synchronize your saved transactions.

Step 3

Preferences: your display and defaults

  1. Currency, number format and theme
  2. Languages are for bank-message recognition

Preferences contains currency, number format, financial year, theme and languages.

Choosing a bank-message language is not translating the entire app.

Step 4

Capture and cloud AI are separate

  1. Choose which apps to monitor
  2. Cloud AI has separate permission and usage

Track Finance Notifications controls capture and opens message review.

AI Intelligence has cloud permission, usage and optional AI-paid automatic saving.

Step 5

Notifications: alerts and schedules

  1. Configure Pennie's alerts
  2. Pausing alerts does not stop capture

Notifications contains alert choices, schedules and quiet hours.

Pausing Pennie's alerts does not switch off capture. Phone permissions remain separate.

Step 6

Backups and Excel are different

  1. Data Transfer: encrypted backup and restore
  2. Reports: local Excel analysis

Data Transfer is for encrypted backup and restore, with separate access requirements.

Reports exports local Excel analysis. It is free and is not a restorable backup.

Step 7

Device protection and financial estimates

  1. Security protects opening Pennie
  2. The EMI Planner provides estimates

Security uses your phone's authentication to protect opening Pennie.

The EMI Planner estimates payments and deposit outcomes. It does not create a loan or post interest.

Step 8

Policy links and support

  1. Privacy & terms: the shared policy
  2. About: version and support

Privacy and terms opens the shared Privacy Policy, including AI, and Terms of Use.

About contains version and support information. Reading the policy does not enable cloud AI.

Step 9

Roadmap and Ideas: product feedback

  1. Browse plans and ideas
  2. Keep participation separate from account sign-in

Roadmap and Ideas is where you browse planned work and share feedback.

Pennie's participation uses its private installation identity, not your main account sign-in.

Step 10

Find the right section, then learn one option

  1. Need Help explains the page
  2. Continue with one focused lesson

Need Help explains the page. Each Settings section has its own focused help.

Start with the section you need. The following videos explain one option at a time.
