Step 1
Find free local export in Settings
- Open Settings > Reports
- Use the local Excel workbook
Open Settings, then Reports, to find the local Excel export. This free feature creates the workbook on your device.
No sign-in, regular Premium or AI Premium is needed. It is not a new monthly AI report, a cloud upload or an encrypted backup.
Step 2
Choose the first calendar month
- Choose Start month
- Check the inclusive period label
Choose Start month, then check the inclusive period shown below the month-count selector.
Our synthetic example starts in May and includes six months through October twenty twenty-six. The screenshots reuse verified Windows controls, not Android footage.
Step 3
See all six month-count choices
- Open Number of months
- Choose one through six months
Open Number of months to see all six genuine choices. Choose the number of calendar months you want, starting from the selected month.
Six is selected in this example. The closed selected value and every expanded option are checked for readable native glyphs; the highlight uses the measured option row.
Step 4
Do not export a future-ending period
- End this month or earlier
- Read the refusal before changing the range
The period must end in the current month or earlier. A future-ending range shows Period extends into the future before a workbook is generated.
Choose an earlier start month or fewer months, then check the period again. Refusal is not a successful export.
Step 5
The current month is saved-so-far data
- Current month is not a completed-month forecast
- Only saved records enter the workbook
When the selected range includes the current month, that month's data contains records saved so far.
It does not predict future spending or include an entire month that has not finished. Review and save pending transactions before expecting them in the workbook.
Step 6
Keep the unencrypted workbook private
- Read the file-privacy warning
- Excel is a report, not a restore file
The Excel file is not encrypted and includes your notes. Save it somewhere private, especially before sharing it.
It is a report, not a restorable Pennie backup. Use Data Transfer's genuine encrypted backup when you need a full recovery copy.
Step 7
Export and save the actual workbook
- Choose Export Excel workbook
- Choose a private destination on your phone
The saved sample opens in a controlled read-only desktop Excel instance, and the ledger stays unchanged. This does not demonstrate your phone's native file picker.
Step 8
Cancellation leaves records unchanged
- Cancel saving if the destination is wrong
- Do not treat cancellation as a saved file
If you cancel saving, Export cancelled says your records are unchanged. You can choose a better destination on another attempt.
Returning to the page is not proof that a workbook was saved. Check the actual status before looking for an exported file.
Step 9
A save error is not a successful export
- Read Export failed
- Resolve the save problem before retrying
If exporting or saving fails, the page explicitly reports Export failed and keeps your records unchanged.
Resolve the storage or destination problem before retrying. Do not assume a missing file was uploaded to Google Drive or generated by cloud AI.
Step 10
Continue with the existing Excel guides
- Open the saved workbook on Overview
- See Reports tutorials 24 through 29
Open the saved workbook on Overview to choose a currency and exported month. The six dashboards follow that scope and the Records filters.
For detailed dashboards and filtering, continue with Reports tutorials twenty-four through twenty-nine. Currencies stay separate; exporting never converts them or restores Pennie.
