Step 1
Check the active scope
- Choose the correct month
- Check day and type filters
- Search only finds saved entries
Start in the correct month and check any active day or transaction-type filter.
Search looks within that scope, and only searches saved transactions, not pending notifications.
Step 2
Search a category
- Type cat:groceries
- Review matching saved rows
- Categories can be custom
Type cat colon groceries to narrow the results by category.
The results show saved Groceries entries in the selected month. Use your own category name when it differs.
Step 3
Search a subcategory or note
- sub:supermarket finds subcategories
- note:weekly finds note text
- note: also considers subcategories
Use sub colon supermarket to search a subcategory.
Use note colon weekly for note text. The note token also searches subcategories, so always read the returned row.
Step 4
Find an amount
- Use amt:500 for this amount
- Inspect the matching row
- Do not confuse signs with spending type
Use amt colon five hundred to find the exact amount in this example.
Read the category, note and transaction type as well as the number; a matching amount alone does not prove it is the purchase you wanted.
Step 5
Combine or clear the search
- Combine category, subcategory and amount
- All tokens must match
- Clear text to broaden the view
Combine cat colon groceries, sub colon supermarket and amt colon five hundred to narrow the same result.
Clear the search text when you want the broader list. Other month, day and type filters still apply.
