Correct an existing saved transaction rather than adding another copy.
Find it:Dashboard quick action or Transactions > Add
Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.
Step 1
Find the existing entry
Search or filter for the entry
Read its category, note and amount
Use its row menu
Find the existing transaction and confirm that it is the right one.
Open that row's menu and choose Edit. This is different from the plus button, which starts a new entry.
Step 2
Correct the details
Update the needed fields
Keep the actual purchase date
Review before saving
Change the incorrect details in the existing form, rather than recording the purchase again.
For this example, we correct the note and change the amount to five hundred and twenty.
Step 3
Save the existing transaction
Use the offered manual access if needed
Historical consent can apply
Cancel writes no correction
Review and Save the edit, completing the manual-saving access offer if required.
Interest-bearing historical edits can ask how to handle posted interest. Cancel stops the change; follow the separate historical-interest guide when that question appears.
Step 4
Check the updated row
Look for the corrected amount
Verify the changed note
No extra purchase was created
Return to Transactions and check the corrected five-hundred-and-twenty-rupee row.
The verified update changes the original entry without adding a duplicate. Use Refresh if the displayed list has not updated.
