Step 1
Open Add Transaction
- Tap the plus button
- Use the manual entry route
- Record an actual purchase
On Transactions, tap the plus button to open Add Transaction.
For this example, we are recording one five-hundred-rupee grocery purchase, not initiating a payment.
Step 2
Choose Expense and a category
- Select Expense
- Choose Groceries
- Check the displayed amount and date
Choose Expense for ordinary spending, then choose Groceries or your own compatible expense category.
Enter five hundred in the displayed currency and use the actual purchase date. The October date is only this sample's date.
Step 3
Add useful details
- Optional subcategory: Supermarket
- Note: Weekly groceries
- Choose a suitable spending tag
Add Supermarket as an optional subcategory and Weekly groceries as the note.
Select Essential if that is how you want to classify this purchase. Leave Subscription off for a one-time purchase.
Step 4
Review and save once
- Check the final summary
- Use Save, or Cancel to leave it unsaved
- Complete an offered access unlock
Read the You're adding summary before recording this expense. Check the amount, category and date.
Tap Save once. If the manual-saving access offer appears, use a completed reward or regular Premium access; AI Premium and cloud consent are separate.
Cancel leaves the form unsaved. Pennie records transactions; it does not send money through your bank.
Step 5
Check the saved transaction
- Open Transactions
- Check the recorded amount and details
- Do not enter the same movement twice
After saving, find the Groceries entry in the correct month.
Our verified example contains one expense for five hundred, with Supermarket and Weekly groceries retained.
If it is already present, do not enter the same purchase again.
