Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Choose Debt and Repayment

  1. Choose a You-owe debt category
  2. Select Repayment, not Loan
  3. Only record an actual payment

Choose Debt, your You-owe category and Repayment for a payment toward money you owe.

Only record a payment that actually happened. An EMI due reminder is not proof of payment.

Step 2

Enter the payment amount and date

  1. Example payment: one thousand
  2. Use the bank-confirmed payment date
  3. Do not add another expense for the same money

Enter the amount actually paid and its real date; here the repayment is one thousand rupees.

Avoid adding a duplicate ordinary expense for the same debt repayment.

Step 3

Understand interest and principal

  1. Allocation is calculated presentation
  2. Posted interest can affect the split
  3. It is not a bank-confirmed breakdown

Pennie can calculate a repayment allocation between posted interest and principal from its tracked ledger.

That allocation is not a bank-confirmed split and is not extra spending. Our simple sample has interest turned off, so no interest allocation is invented.

Step 4

Review and save once

  1. Check the final summary
  2. Use Save, or Cancel to leave it unsaved
  3. Complete an offered access unlock

Read the You're adding summary before recording this repayment. Check the amount, category and date.

Tap Save once. If the manual-saving access offer appears, use a completed reward or regular Premium access; AI Premium and cloud consent are separate.

Cancel leaves the form unsaved. Pennie records transactions; it does not send money through your bank.

Step 5

Check the saved transaction

  1. Open Transactions
  2. Check the recorded amount and details
  3. Do not enter the same movement twice

Check the saved repayment in the debt view and Transactions.

This verified one-thousand repayment reduces the twelve-thousand tracked debt to eleven thousand.

Use the dedicated interest and historical-change guides when your debt has posted interest.
