Step 1

Open Add category

  1. Check the verified saved state
  2. Read the highlighted value
  3. Setup is separate from money movement

From Categories, tap Add category and complete the custom-category unlock if offered.

We will set up Pet care, not record a purchase or train notification suggestions.

Step 2

Name it and choose Expense

  1. Open the category editor
  2. Check name, icon and purpose
  3. Keep the same category when editing

Enter a valid name such as Pet care, and keep Category purpose set to Expense.

Savings and Debt have different setup fields; there is no custom Income option.

Step 3

Select a real catalog icon

  1. Open the icon picker
  2. Search Pet Care
  3. Tap the paw icon

Open the actual icon picker and search Pet Care.

Tap the paw tile to return its selected icon to the category editor.

Step 4

Save without a limit yet

  1. Review before saving once
  2. Use Cancel to leave changes unsaved
  3. Check the saved category afterwards

With no monthly budget recorded, leave the expense limit blank and tap Save once.

Step 5

Check transaction compatibility

  1. Open the transaction category picker
  2. Use the Expense choices
  3. Find Pet care

The saved Pet care category now appears in the real compatible transaction picker.

Selecting a category is not saving an expense; record the actual purchase separately.
