Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Start with the full page

  1. Check the verified saved state
  2. Read the highlighted value
  3. Setup is separate from money movement

Use Search categories to narrow the displayed groups.

Our verified monthly allocation remains fourteen thousand against ten thousand of income.

Step 2

Search a custom category

  1. Type Pet
  2. Read the matching custom group
  3. Allocation totals stay unchanged

Type Pet to find the custom Pet care category.

Searching changes visible rows, not the saved category limits or monthly income.

Step 3

Find a built-in category

  1. Search Groceries
  2. Read its built-in row
  3. The allocation stays unchanged

Search Groceries to find its built-in row.

The search does not remove any other stored categories or limits.

Step 4

Find a disabled category

  1. Search Old travel
  2. Read Disabled Categories
  3. Enable before new entry

Search Old travel to find the actual disabled category in its separate section.

Use Enable before choosing that category in a new transaction.

Step 5

No matches and clear

  1. Try a name with no matches
  2. Clear the search
  3. Check the full groups return

A search with no matches does not delete your categories.

Clear Search categories to restore the full page and its unchanged allocation totals.

Step 6

Restore the full list

  1. Clear all search text
  2. Browse the groups again
  3. Check the same allocation

The full grouped list returns when the search is empty.

The same four-thousand over-allocation remains; search is not a budgeting operation.
