Step 1

Read the monthly-presentation setting

  1. Read Carry balance forward
  2. Separate full balance from month net
  3. A switch is not a transaction

Carry balance forward describes month-based presentation, not a new deposit or repayment.

Keep the saved full balance separate from this month's activity.

Step 2

Compare Reports with carry-forward on

  1. Open Reports > Budget
  2. Read Saved: INR6,200
  3. This month stays INR200

In the actual Reports Budget row, carry-forward on presents six thousand two hundred as Saved.

This month remains two hundred; these are different measures.

Step 3

Turn it off without clearing balances

  1. Read the changed setting
  2. Keep history and unpaid debt
  3. Do not assume Dashboard shrinks

Turning it off does not erase saved transactions, posted interest or unpaid debt.

Dashboard keeps using the saved full balance regardless of this switch.

Step 4

Compare Reports with carry-forward off

  1. Read Saved: INR200
  2. This month stays INR200
  3. Monthly projection is not outstanding

With carry-forward off, the same Reports row presents only this month's two hundred as Saved.

The two hundred monthly progress is unchanged; full outstanding still remains six thousand two hundred.

Step 5

Verify the unchanged full balance

  1. Verify the full balance: INR6,200
  2. Keep month net INR200 separate
  3. Saved transactions remain

Both verified states retain six thousand two hundred of full balance and two hundred of current-month net activity.

The same two saved transactions remain; this switch neither clears your account nor repays debt.
