Step 1
Create a reminder, not a payment
- Dashboard > Transaction Reminders
- Tap Add reminder
- Sample data; reminder access already available
On Dashboard, scroll to Transaction Reminders and tap Add reminder.
This walkthrough uses sample data and already-available reminder access.
If Pennie offers a rewarded-ad unlock, access is granted only after a completed reward.
Cancelling the offer does not open the editor.
This feature unlock is separate from cloud AI permission.
A reminder never pays a bill for you.
Step 2
Name it and choose its notification group
- Type: Expense for this bill
- Subject: Electricity bill
- Notification group: Bill
For our electricity bill, use the Expense reminder type.
Enter Electricity bill in Subject; a subject is required.
Choose Bill under Notification group.
This choice determines which setting in Settings, Notifications controls the alert.
It does not infer a bill or a due date from a bank message.
Step 3
Add optional amount and category context
- Amount: 1,500 in this example
- Amount may be left blank
- Category: Utilities
Amount is optional.
We enter fifteen hundred for this sample bill and choose Utilities as its category.
Check your own amount rather than copying the example.
The amount is reminder context, not proof that money has moved.
Saving this reminder does not add an expense to your transaction ledger.
Step 4
Choose how often to be reminded
- Monthly is selected for this example
- Other frequencies are available
- One-time is for a single date
Scroll to Frequency and choose how often this reminder repeats.
Monthly is selected for our example.
Pennie also offers weekly, bi-weekly, daily, quarterly, half-yearly, annual and one-time reminders.
Pick the schedule that matches your need.
None of these choices authorizes an automatic bank debit.
Step 5
Enter the start date and alert time
- Start on: 5 October 2026
- Reminder time: 9 AM
- Review before Save reminder
At Start on, choose the date yourself.
Our sample starts on the fifth of October, twenty twenty-six, at nine in the morning.
Use Reminder time to set the alert time.
Check the date, time and frequency before tapping Save reminder.
These are your instructions, not a bank-confirmed payment deadline.
Step 6
Acknowledge the saved reminder
- Reminder saved
- Read the delivery message
- Tap OK to return
Pennie shows Reminder saved after a successful save.
In this sample, the Bill notification group is enabled, so the message says the reminder is scheduled.
Android settings and quiet hours may still affect delivery.
If the chosen notification group is off, Pennie instead tells you to enable it.
Tap OK to return.
Step 7
Check the reminder on Dashboard
- Electricity bill appears in Transaction Reminders
- Check Monthly and the next occurrence
- Record actual payments separately
Back on Dashboard, find Electricity bill in Transaction Reminders and check its frequency and next occurrence.
This is a saved schedule, not a completed payment.
Record an expense separately when money actually moves.
