Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Open the reminder you want to change

  1. Dashboard > Transaction Reminders
  2. Tap the Electricity bill card
  3. This example assumes reminder access is available

To change a reminder, find Transaction Reminders on Dashboard and tap its card.

We use a synthetic Electricity bill reminder.

This example assumes recurring-reminder access is available.

If the section offers an unlock instead, use that flow first; do not assume a reminder card is always available without access.

Step 2

Update the existing reminder

  1. The dedicated reminder editor opens
  2. Keep Subject: Electricity bill
  3. Example amount changes to 1,600

The reminder editor loads the existing reminder, even though its page title says Add reminder.

Change the subject, notification group, amount or category as needed.

In our example, keep Electricity bill and the Bill group, and change the amount to sixteen hundred.

You are editing a schedule, not a saved payment.

Step 3

Review the revised date and time, then save

  1. Monthly remains selected
  2. Start on: 6 October 2026; time: 6 PM
  3. Review, then tap Save reminder

Keep Monthly for this example and update Start on to the sixth of October, twenty twenty-six.

Set Reminder time to six in the evening.

Review the revised schedule, then tap Save reminder.

This changes the existing reminder.

Do not add a second reminder just to change the alert time.

Step 4

Acknowledge Reminder updated

  1. Successful edit: Reminder updated
  2. Read the delivery message
  3. Tap OK to return

After a successful edit, Pennie shows Reminder updated.

In our sample, the Bill notification group is enabled.

The message still warns that Android settings and quiet hours may affect delivery.

If that group is off, the reminder is saved but its alerts need the group enabled.

Tap OK to return.

Step 5

Check the updated card

  1. The same reminder remains active
  2. Sample amount is now 1,600
  3. Check the next date and time

Back on Dashboard, check the amount and next occurrence on the updated card.

Editing preserves the reminder instead of creating a second one.

Android permissions, the selected notification group and quiet hours still affect alerts.

Updating the amount does not post an expense or move money.

Step 6

Confirm before deleting a reminder

  1. Tap the card's trash icon
  2. Check Delete reminder and its subject
  3. Cancel keeps it; Delete removes it

To remove a reminder, tap the trash icon on its Dashboard card.

Pennie asks whether to delete Electricity bill.

Check the subject carefully.

Cancel keeps the reminder unchanged.

Choose Delete only when you want to remove that reminder and its scheduled alert, not when you merely want to edit it.

Step 7

Deleting a reminder does not delete a payment

  1. The deleted reminder disappears
  2. Saved transactions are unchanged
  3. This is not a merchant or bank cancellation

The reminder disappears from Dashboard after deletion.

In our one-reminder example, the section returns to Plan ahead.

This removes a local reminder; it does not delete a saved transaction, cancel a subscription with a merchant, or stop a bank payment.
