Step 1
Two account actions, two different goals
- Find the Account card in Profile
- Choose switch or sign out
Open Profile, then scroll to the Account card.
Switch account changes who you use for account services. Sign out leaves those services signed out.
Step 2
Switch account opens a confirmation
- Tap Switch account
- Read before continuing
Use Switch account when you want to choose a different Google account.
Pennie first asks you to confirm. Do not confuse this with restoring another device's ledger.
Step 3
Switching leaves device expenses intact
- Continue signs out, then opens account choice
- Cancel keeps the current account
The confirmation says Pennie will sign out, then ask you to pick a Google account.
Your device expenses and the current account's existing backup are left untouched.
Step 4
Cancel when the account is already correct
- Use Cancel to stop here
- No Google account change in this demo
Cancel stops the switch before your account changes.
this worked example uses real confirmation controls but cancels. Complete any actual Google account choice on your phone.
Step 5
Sign out is not deleting your expenses
- Tap Sign out
- Read the backup warning
Sign out opens a different confirmation.
Your expenses stay on this device. Automatic backup stops until you sign in again.
Step 6
Confirm only when you want to sign out
- Sign out continues on your phone
- Cancel leaves the account unchanged
Read the sign-out message before choosing an action.
We use Cancel here, preserving the same synthetic account and making no cloud changes.
Step 7
Cancellation returns to the same account
- The Account card remains
- Device transactions are not rewritten
After cancellation, the same account remains shown in Profile.
Signing out or switching is an account action, not deleting, importing or merging your device transactions.
Step 8
Recheck permissions after a real switch
- Verify the newly selected account
- Review Drive and cloud AI separately
After a real switch, check the new identity and the backup choices for that account.
Cloud AI permission is account-scoped. Do not assume another account's consent or access automatically carries over.
