Choose an appearance in Preferences

1. Find Theme
2. Read the selected mode

Find Theme in Preferences and read its selected mode.

Choose a fixed appearance or let Pennie follow your device's system appearance.

Three actual choices: Light, Dark and System

1. Open the theme picker
2. Read all three choices

The actual picker offers Light, Dark and System.

Light and Dark are fixed choices. System delegates the appearance to the device setting.

Step 3

Light uses the actual light appearance

1. Select Light
2. Check labels and controls

Select Light for the light appearance.

Check the labels and controls as well as the background. The choice is applied through the real setting.

Step 4

Dark applies a fixed dark appearance

1. Select Dark
2. Check readable text and controls

Select Dark for a fixed dark appearance.

This is the actual Preferences page after the real theme handler applies Dark, not a recolored screenshot.

Step 5

System follows your device appearance

1. Select System
2. The displayed appearance depends on the device

Select System when you want Pennie to follow your device's appearance.

Step 6

The selected mode is a retained preference

1. Read the selected mode
2. No account sign-in is needed for this choice

Pennie retains the selected mode as a device preference.

Theme selection does not require an account, a paid plan or cloud AI permission.

Use the mode you can read comfortably

1. Check the selected appearance
2. Keep theme separate from language and formatting

Choose the appearance you can read comfortably.

Theme changes the appearance. Number formatting and bank-message languages remain separate settings.
