Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Choose the languages your bank messages use

  1. Find Bank message languages
  2. Open the current selection

Find Bank message languages in Preferences.

Choose the languages used by your bank messages and transaction alerts, not the language you want for the app menus.

Step 2

Read the actual language choices

  1. Open the language popup
  2. Review the checked choices

The popup shows the actual offered languages and the current selections.

Our synthetic example starts with English and Hindi selected. Choose the languages relevant to your messages.

Step 3

A language row changes its selection

  1. Change the relevant language row
  2. Review the selection count

Use a language row to select or clear that language.

Here the real row handler clears Hindi, leaving English selected. Review the count before committing.

Step 4

Save commits the selected languages

  1. Find Save at the bottom
  2. Return to Preferences after saving

Save commits the selected languages and closes the popup.

The Preferences button then reflects the saved choices.

Step 5

Read the saved language summary

  1. Confirm the Preferences summary
  2. Keep only the languages you need

Our saved example now shows English in Preferences.

Language choices are retained for local bank-message recognition. They do not enable cloud AI by themselves.

Step 6

An empty draft still saves a minimum language

  1. Select All and Deselect All change the draft
  2. Saving no choices restores English

Select All and Deselect All change the draft choices in the popup.

If you save with none selected, Pennie restores English as the minimum. Saving is not a way to disable capture.

Step 7

Close also saves; it is not Cancel

  1. Close commits this popup's choices
  2. Review changes before using either button

Close also saves the selected languages. It is not a Cancel button.

Review your changes before choosing Save or Close; this differs from the currency popup's Close behavior.

Step 8

Recognition languages are not guaranteed accuracy

  1. This setting is not app translation
  2. Review uncertain finance suggestions

Bank-message languages configure recognition. They do not translate the app or guarantee the purpose of a payment.

Keep reviewing uncertain finance suggestions. Saved corrections and cloud AI permission are separate.
