Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Open AI Intelligence in Settings

  1. Find Enable cloud AI
  2. Local tracking works while it is off

Open AI Intelligence from Settings and find Enable cloud AI.

While it is off, Pennie keeps local tracking, local learning and Excel reports available.

Step 2

Permission belongs to the current account

  1. Sign in before changing cloud permission
  2. Account access alone does not enable AI

Cloud AI permission belongs to the current Pennie account. Sign in first if you do not have one.

Signing in is not agreement to use cloud AI. this worked example uses a synthetic account, not a live sign-in.

Step 3

Turning on opens an unchecked agreement

  1. The popup stays on this page
  2. Permission remains off until agreement

Turning on opens this agreement popup on the same AI Intelligence page.

The checkbox starts unchecked. Cloud AI stays off while you decide.

Step 4

Read the main Privacy Policy's AI section

  1. Use the policy link before agreeing
  2. This is not a separate AI policy

Privacy Policy, AI section opens the AI disclosure in Pennie's main Privacy Policy on your phone.

Step 5

A policy-link failure stays visible

  1. Read the actual link error
  2. Cancel and try again if needed

If the policy cannot open, the popup shows this actual error and the policy address.

Do not mistake that for a successful launch. You can cancel and try again before agreeing.

Step 6

Cancel leaves cloud permission off

  1. Cancel closes the agreement
  2. No cloud permission is granted

Cancel closes the popup and leaves cloud AI off for the account.

General privacy acknowledgement is a separate choice. Cancelling this agreement does not grant it either.

Step 7

Checking agreement enables cloud AI

  1. Check only after reading the policy
  2. The master setting now shows on

If you agree, check the agreement box. There is no second Enable button to press.

The popup closes and the master setting shows on. Available usage and each feature's own access checks still apply.

Step 8

The master permission governs cloud features

  1. Feature controls appear after agreement
  2. Automatic saving has separate requirements

After agreement, the AI feature controls become visible.

This does not automatically save expenses or purchase AI Premium. Those choices have their own requirements.

Step 9

The stored choice is remembered for this account

  1. Reopening reads the existing choice
  2. A different account does not inherit it

Reopening AI Intelligence reads the stored choice for this account without repeating the agreement.

A different account does not inherit this permission. Keep track of which account you are using.

Step 10

Turning off withdraws future cloud permission

  1. Off takes effect immediately
  2. Already submitted processing is not cancelled

Turn Enable cloud AI off whenever you want. It takes effect immediately and hides the cloud feature controls.

This stops future uploads, not processing already submitted. It is not deletion of existing AI data.
