Step 1
Find Allow Pennie notifications
- Open Notifications from Settings
- Read the master switch and status
Open Notifications from Settings and find Allow Pennie notifications.
This is Pennie's alert master switch. It is not the permission that lets Pennie read your bank notifications.
Step 2
Changes are saved automatically
- No separate Save button is needed
- Android still controls delivery on your phone
These notification choices are saved automatically when you change them.
Android still controls whether alerts can appear on your phone. An on switch alone does not prove delivery.
Step 3
Turn the master off to pause alerts
- Turn Allow Pennie notifications off
- Read Alerts paused
Turn Allow Pennie notifications off when you want to pause Pennie's alerts.
The actual status says Alerts paused. Expense capture continues. The group controls become disabled without clearing their choices.
Step 4
Pausing alerts is not stopping capture
- Capture has its own listener access and chosen apps
Expense capture still depends on notification access and the apps you chose in Track Finance Notifications.
Step 5
Selected groups can remain on while paused
- The example keeps Budget alerts selected
- Selected does not mean currently allowed to post
Notice that Budget alerts remains selected in this example while the master is off.
A retained on choice is not permission to post. The actual control is disabled, and the master policy blocks its alerts.
Step 6
Reopening remembers the pause
- A fresh actual page reads the saved OFF choice
- Earlier group selections are still retained
Reopening an actual new Notifications page remembers the saved off choice.
The earlier group selections are still retained. You do not need to rebuild them merely because you paused alerts.
Step 7
Resume without rebuilding your choices
- Turn the master on again
- Previously selected groups remain selected
Turn the master on again when you want Pennie alerts to resume.
The example keeps its Budget alerts selection. Resuming does not mean every optional group is turned on.
Step 8
Check Android permission separately
- Use Android notification settings on your phone
If alerts are blocked on your phone, use Android notification settings and inspect the system permissions.
This lesson shows the real entry button, not an Android OS screen or a successful permission grant.
Step 9
Master, groups and delivery are separate
- Keep the master and group choices intentional
- Check schedules, quiet hours and system delivery separately
Keep the master switch and each group choice intentional.
Then check schedules, quiet hours and Android delivery separately. Pausing alerts, stopping capture and deleting transactions are different actions.
