Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Find the three independent savings choices

  1. Open Settings > Notifications
  2. Contribution, milestone and interest are different

Open Notifications and find the savings choices under Bills, EMI and savings.

Savings contributions, Savings milestones and Interest updates do different jobs. Keep the alert master enabled for delivery.

Step 2

Enable your scheduled contribution reminder

  1. Choose Savings contributions for a deposit schedule
  2. A switch does not move money or create a reminder

Enable Savings contributions when you want reminders for your configured deposit schedule.

The milestone and interest choices stay independent. This switch does not move money, record a deposit or create the schedule for you.

Step 3

Read the actual contribution setup steps

  1. Use Savings and debt > Savings contribution
  2. Choose the category, amount, frequency and first due date

The information button explains the actual setup: choose Savings and debt, then Savings contribution as the notification group.

Choose the savings category, enter a subject and optional amount, then set frequency, first due date and reminder time. Save the reminder separately.

Step 4

Savings keeps its own reminder schedule

  1. Shared advance days are for bills, EMI and subscriptions
  2. Savings reminders use their own schedule

The page explains that advance notice applies to bills, EMI and subscriptions.

Savings reminders use their own schedule. Changing shared advance days does not move a savings contribution or record a deposit.

Step 5

Prepare a recorded goal in a Savings category

  1. Configure a positive savings goal in Categories
  2. Record deposits and withdrawals in that category

The milestone information button says to configure a goal on a Savings category.

Record deposits and withdrawals there, then enable Savings milestones. This uses Pennie's recorded progress, not a bank-confirmed balance.

Step 6

Enable milestones without a deposit reminder

  1. Turn on Savings milestones independently
  2. Contribution reminders can remain off

This example enables Savings milestones while contribution reminders remain off.

Choose the reminders you actually want. A goal-progress alert is not an instruction that automatically transfers money.

Step 7

Know the four recorded-goal thresholds

  1. Milestones are 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%
  2. A valid positive goal is required

The actual milestone thresholds are twenty-five, fifty, seventy-five and one hundred percent of the recorded goal.

A missing or non-positive goal cannot produce these signals. Reaching a percentage does not prove that a bank has paid interest.

Step 8

Use a simple illustrative goal example

  1. Example only: goal 1,000; recorded savings 250
  2. 250 reaches 25%; 249.99 is below it

For illustration, a recorded goal of one thousand reaches twenty-five percent when recorded savings reach two hundred and fifty.

Two hundred and forty-nine point nine nine is still below it. Existing goal-specific receipts avoid repeated threshold alerts; this film does not demonstrate Android delivery.

Step 9

Interest updates follows posted entries

  1. Configure supported savings or debt interest terms
  2. Alerts follow recorded automatic interest entries

The interest information button says to configure supported terms for a Savings or Debt category.

Interest updates follows automatic interest entries recorded by Pennie. It is not a projected return or a promise that your bank has paid that amount.

Step 10

Turn off the alert, not the interest calculation

  1. Interest updates can be turned off independently
  2. Notification choices do not disable ledger accrual

Turn Interest updates off when you do not want that alert.

Notification switches do not disable ledger accrual. Changing this choice does not erase existing interest entries or change your configured terms.

Step 11

Restore interest alerts without other savings choices

  1. Interest updates is on in this example
  2. The other two savings groups remain off

Turning Interest updates back on leaves contribution reminders and milestones unchanged.

An alert needs recorded positive interest, the master and permission to display notifications. The switch is not evidence of a posted bank payment.

Step 12

Master pause remembers the selected groups

  1. All three selections remain remembered during pause
  2. Pause is not a ledger or schedule deletion

When the master is paused, these three selected groups remain remembered but delivery is paused.

The disabled reminder controls show the pause. It does not delete savings goals, contribution schedules, recorded deposits or interest entries.

Step 13

A fresh page reads the saved choices

  1. This reopened page remembers all three choices
  2. Settings choices save automatically

A newly opened actual page remembers all three selected savings choices.

Settings choices save automatically. Setting up a contribution reminder or editing a goal is a separate action, not something these switches complete.

Step 14

Check recorded data and phone delivery separately

  1. Keep only the groups you want enabled
  2. Check permission, quiet hours and actual phone delivery

Keep only the groups you want enabled, with a valid recorded goal, supported interest terms or a saved contribution schedule as appropriate.

Then check notification permission, quiet hours and actual phone delivery. A reminder, a goal milestone and posted interest are three different things.
