Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Choose Fixed deposit

  1. Open Settings > EMI Planner
  2. Choose Fixed deposit as the goal

Choose Fixed deposit in EMI Planner to compare a one-time deposit held for a selected term.

This is different from a recurring monthly contribution. It does not create a bank deposit or a saved savings category.

Step 2

Enter deposit principal and annual rate

  1. Enter the starting deposit amount
  2. Use the offered annual interest percentage

Enter the deposit principal and annual interest rate. Our synthetic example uses one lakh rupees at seven point five percent.

Use the product terms, not a hoped-for return. Charges, tax and bank-specific rounding can make the real proceeds different.

Step 3

Choose the tenure and its unit

  1. Set months or years deliberately
  2. Use principal plus tenure as the inputs

Choose the deposit tenure and check the unit. This example uses twenty-four months.

The current fixed-deposit screen takes principal plus tenure. It does not reverse-solve a term or principal from a maturity target.

Step 4

Check the schedule start month and year

  1. Choose the starting month
  2. Check the year beside it

Check the schedule start month and year. This synthetic comparison starts in January twenty twenty-six.

Check the year beside the month as well. This date belongs to the calculation, not a new deposit, saved transaction or scheduled bank transfer.

Step 5

Check interest and crediting terms

  1. Choose compound or simple interest
  2. Select supported cadence combinations

Choose the interest model and supported accrual and crediting cadence. Those settings are part of the estimate.

Read the actual descriptions. A different crediting period is not the same thing as changing the annual interest rate.

Step 6

Use fiscal alignment only when supported

  1. Choose a supported quarterly or yearly model
  2. Check the financial-year start month

Supported compound quarterly or yearly choices can offer financial-year alignment.

Our fiscal-aligned scenario selects April. This affects the planner's schedule boundary, not your bank's terms or your saved ledger history.

Step 7

Read interest and maturity amount

  1. Calculate the one-time deposit plan
  2. Check maturity amount and target month

Calculate and read interest earned, maturity amount and the estimated maturity month.

The figures shown are generated by the actual decimal Core calculator. They are not bank-confirmed proceeds or an interest transaction already saved.

Step 8

Compare the supported quarterly estimate

  1. Recalculate the quarterly scenario
  2. Compare against the same principal and term

Recalculate a supported quarterly scenario while keeping principal, rate and term consistent.

Compare its own maturity output with the monthly baseline. Do not carry forward stale totals after changing the assumptions.

Step 9

Inspect the fiscal-aligned result

  1. Calculate with the chosen fiscal boundary
  2. Review its own real schedule and total

Calculate with the supported fiscal-alignment choice and read that scenario's result.

The verified schedule follows the selected boundary. It does not rewrite your financial-year preference, a real bank account or posted interest.

Step 10

Compare simple interest separately

  1. Select the simple-interest model
  2. Calculate and read its own maturity

For a simple-interest comparison, select Simple and calculate the same principal, rate and term again.

This is a distinct model, not a guarantee of a higher or lower bank return. Match the proposed product before relying on the comparison.

Step 11

Expand the genuine deposit schedule

  1. Scroll to Yearly breakdown
  2. Expand monthly details and swipe sideways

Expand Yearly breakdown to inspect the actual monthly deposit and interest projection, and swipe sideways for additional columns.

The planner does not save those projected rows as transactions, create a maturity reminder or post dated ledger interest.

Step 12

Correct invalid principal before continuing

  1. Use a positive starting deposit
  2. Keep the estimate separate from real records

Zero principal is rejected and produces no maturity schedule. The current validation wording still refers to a valid loan amount.

Correct the deposit input and calculate again. Record an actual deposit only through the app's separate savings workflow.

Step 13

Planner access is separate from cloud AI

  1. Use the existing planner unlock when needed
  2. Only a completed reward grants timed access

Planner calculation uses its existing feature access. Regular paid access or active referral ad-free time bypasses the ad gate; otherwise a completed rewarded unlock can grant timed access.
