Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Review Pennie's policies in one place

  1. Open Settings > Privacy & terms
  2. About opens the same review

Open Privacy and terms from Settings to review Pennie's policies in one place.

About also opens this same review. It is not a second AI policy or another cloud AI switch.

Step 2

Read Privacy Policy and Terms of Use

  1. Open the two public policy links
  2. Read optional data handling before deciding

Privacy Policy and Terms of Use open their public pages in your browser.

The Privacy Policy includes optional AI, notification data, backups and privacy controls. Our closed preview does not actually launch a browser.

Step 3

Read without signing in

  1. Policy links remain readable
  2. Sign in from Profile to save this review

You can read the policy links while signed out. This screen explains that Profile sign-in is needed to save an account review.

The acknowledgement box and Continue are disabled here. Reading a policy does not sign you in or grant a paid feature.

Step 4

Check the acknowledgement deliberately

  1. Review the policy and terms first
  2. Checking alone does not save the choice

When signed in, review the policy and terms, then check the acknowledgement if you agree.

Checking enables Continue, but the choice is not saved yet. It also does not turn on cloud AI.

Step 5

Continue saves the general review

  1. Use Continue after checking
  2. Your AI choice stays separate

Use Continue to save the general policy acknowledgement and return to the previous screen.

This is a versioned review receipt, not an AI permission, Drive authorization or Android notification-access grant.

Step 6

Current acknowledgement is remembered

  1. A new review reflects the saved choice
  2. The current version is not asked per request

Reopening the actual review shows the saved acknowledgement checked for the current version.

Account-specific review is remembered on this device. It is not automatic synchronization across devices or permission for every cloud feature.

Step 7

Welcome review is still general review

  1. A current welcome acknowledgement counts
  2. It never enables cloud AI

If you already acknowledged the current policy during Welcome, that general review still counts after signing in.

Pennie does not need another account-specific receipt just to repeat it. Welcome acknowledgement remains separate from enabling cloud AI.

Step 8

Not now leaves the choice unsaved

  1. Use Not now when you are not ready
  2. Closing is not acceptance

Choose Not now to close without saving a new acknowledgement. Back also closes this review.

An unsaved checkbox choice is not acceptance. Your existing Enable cloud AI choice stays unchanged when you leave.

Step 9

A failed save is not acceptance

  1. Read Your choices were not saved
  2. Check the account and retry

If receipt storage fails, the original page says your choices were not saved. It clears the unsaved check and disables Continue.

Check the current account and retry when ready. Do not treat closing the page or a failed write as successful acceptance.

Step 10

Check the current policy version

  1. Read the version shown on the page
  2. An older receipt is not current review

The page shows its current policy version. An older acknowledgement can require a new general review.

An absent or outdated review does not silently enable or disable cloud AI. Keep the legal review and that explicit setting separate.

Step 11

Use AI Intelligence for the AI choice

  1. Open AI Intelligence when intended
  2. Its explicit agreement controls cloud AI

Open AI Intelligence takes you to the separate AI settings page. Its Enable cloud AI agreement controls that optional feature.

Step 12

An account change clears an unsaved check

  1. Check the current account in Profile
  2. Do not transfer an unsaved acknowledgement

If the account changes while review is open, the page refreshes the displayed choice for the new account.

An unsaved check is cleared, not transferred to that account. Check Profile before saving when account identity is uncertain.

Step 13

Read browser errors and choose the next step

  1. A failed browser launch is shown explicitly
  2. Check browser and connection or choose Not now

If a browser cannot be opened, the original page shows the problem rather than claiming it launched.

Check your browser and connection, or choose Not now. Our deliberately unavailable browser demonstrates this error, not a live website visit.

Step 14

Keep privacy review and permissions separate

  1. Read, decide and save only when ready
  2. Local tracking and Excel do not require cloud AI

Read the policies, decide deliberately, then save with Continue or leave with Not now.

Local tracking and Excel reports still work with cloud AI off. Drive, notification access and other privacy choices remain separate.
