Worked examples use sample data, not your account. Reference screenshots show the current app controls in a Windows preview; their example amounts may differ from this lesson. Android system prompts vary by device.

Step 1

Check the receipt header and total

  1. Verify merchant, date and currency
  2. Correct the total and adjustments
  3. Confirm this is a real receipt

Check the shop, bill date, currency and confirmed total against the actual receipt.

Review tax, discount, fees, rounding and whether tax is already included. Here the shop's confirmed total is three hundred and thirty.

Step 2

Correct every item

  1. Edit descriptions, quantities and amounts
  2. Add missing rows or remove incorrect ones
  3. Line amount takes priority

Review every item and correct descriptions, quantities, prices and amounts; add missing rows or remove incorrect ones.

An explicit line amount takes priority over quantity times unit price. Use decimal separators, not thousands separators.

Step 3

Reconcile categories and adjustments

  1. Milk 100, notebooks 200, tax 30
  2. Choose each appropriate item category
  3. Category suggestions do not replace amounts

This sample has milk for one hundred, notebooks for two hundred and thirty tax.

Review the categories and proportional adjustment choice. Optional category suggestions must not replace your edited money fields.

Step 4

Choose exactly one save mode

  1. One expense keeps the receipt breakdown
  2. Separate expenses create one per item
  3. Do not use both modes for the same receipt

Save as one expense creates one three-hundred-and-thirty expense with the complete item breakdown.

Save items as separate expenses creates two adjusted expenses, one hundred and ten and two hundred and twenty in this verified example. Choose one mode only, not both.

Step 5

Verify the saved total

  1. Check one or all item entries
  2. The sample total remains 330
  3. Exact-file replay is protected

Check the saved entries and their combined total after recording the receipt.

Both verified save modes retain a total of three hundred and thirty, and an exact-file replay does not create another set of expenses. A newly photographed receipt still needs your duplicate check.
